PROFILE
Thomas A. Restaino joined the firm in 2019 as Of Counsel after spending 27 years at AT&T, the last 15 years of which as its Chief IP Counsel. Prior to his tenure at AT&T, Tom was in private practice at the law firm of Kenyon & Kenyon in New York, and prior to that was a Senior Engineer and Systems Analyst working on the design of navigation and communications systems for military aircraft.
During his tenure as Chief IP Counsel for AT&T, Tom managed a team of 14 lawyers and was responsible for all advice and counsel on IP legal matters to all the business units of AT&T, as well as AT&T Laboratories and AT&T's Global Supply Chain, including advice on IP provisions in business services sales and supply chain contracts, assessment of intra-supplier IP disputes, and pre-litigation defense of AT&T operating units against allegations of IP infringement and misappropriation. This work also included responsibility for all legal aspects of patent prosecution, assertion, licensing and sales, as well as trademark acquisition and brand and technology licensing.
